That means 'forest stage' or 'stage in the woods' and this particular one is at the Gurten, a nice hill near Berne (you know: the Swiss capital), on which a big and well reputated open-air-festival takes place every summer. And the thing is that they always offer some newcomers an opportunity to play in front of a big crowd. Great - so far!
Voting
Unfortunately a band can't just decide to play there - the deal is that they have to get enough votes. Now this is what this page was for: to get us enough votes to be in the top 8 back in 2009!
But we ended on rank 23. Not too bad anyway!
The winners this year are:
Daliah (Pop), Das Pferd (Electro-Punk), 7 Dollar Taxi (indie-Rock), Baze (Poetry Rap), The Rambling Wheels (Retro Rock), Pamela Mendez (Singer-/Songwriter), Tommy Vercetti (HipHop), Halunke (Mundart), Bubble Beatz (Rhythm), Caroline Chevin (Soul), Junes (Electro Acoustic Rock), 77 Bombay Street (Folk-Rock), The BiancaStory (Electro Pop), Destilacija (Berner Balkan-Rumpelrock)
Plus the winners of the Live Contest: Dead Bunny, Hot Running Blood, Flat Noise Bag und Trashy Lullabies.
Congratulations!
Fridolin's Heritage
Well, that's a Swiss bluesband: a bunch of experienced musicians, hoping to be able once to play in front of a bigger audience: Hank Dust (guit., voc.), Mario Piccante (bluesharp, voc.), Tony Flowers (drums, voc.), Don Mojito (Piano, Keyboards) and Sid Mercury (Bass).
Bluesband ?
Yes, definitely - mostly Louisiana-style. But not only that. The setlist also promises trips to the worlds of bluesrock, rock, funk and sometimes even pop. Different musical influences add up to an interesting and exciting whole.
